Thank you all for your kind comments via email and in person. It always surprises me how many people tell me they check back here regularly to see what’s new. When life gets busy though, feedback from you really motivates me to get the camera out. Take time to leave comments directly on this blog. You can even do it anonymously. Tell me what you like, or much better, where I could improve...

Is that seaweed 'as was' or have you touched it up somehow? It looks totally natural, and almost ethereal, as does a lot of Iceland!

These shots, as a fair few of the Iceland shots on my blog are 'HDR' images, where 3 exposures are taken and blended together to give a higher range of brightness/colour than the camera could otherwise capture. It was fairly bright in 'real life' too though.
If it's Photomatix Pro then you've done well, most people go a bit too far and end up with something looking very odd indeed! Less is more!

Thanks Andrew. Have you used Photomatix also? It is temping to go with the unreal looking images the software produces, and indeed there are a few obvious HDR landscape shots on this blog, but in general I am wishing there was more control in HDR software so I could ensure the output looked somewhere near real-life! Great pictures on your flickr btw.
I have indeed been using Photomatix for about a year, on my Flickr set you can sort of chart the progress from the gaudy beginnings to the more subtle recent work - http://flickr.com/photos/lawsie/sets/72157604061330517/
